Review:
Large pub with long
bar that is decked out to a high
standard.
The pub has smart décor that blends in
nicely with the modern wooden furnishings and wooden
panelling on the walls. There are huge glass windows
to the front that makes it bright and airy during
the day and in the evening there is dark
subdued lighting.
There is plenty of seating
throughout with one end of the bar having low wooden
seating and tables. The other end has high tables
and an old ornate fireplace. Small modern pictures
adorn the walls. The pub gets very busy most of the
time with a mixed clientele and is packed at
weekends with a young crowd and quayside revellers.
There are two large drop down screens and several TV's
that show Live sport and every Newcastle and England
live matches. The rugby Six nations is also shown.
There is regular music on play with the DJ situated
in a booth to the right of the bar. The bar is close to several
restaurants & other pubs on the Quayside.
There is a
nice view of the river and Guild Hall from the front
of the pub. Taxi rank outside.
Disabled access to
main bar good but difficult to toilets as
downstairs. Toilets are smart and clean.
Price:
Reasonable.
