Small 1st floor bar
that is upstairs from Scalini's restaurant on Osborne
Road. A large staircase to the left of the main
entrance leads to a small bar with a part tiled and wooden floor.
The bar is bright and airy by with glass windows to
the front with wooden blinds. The bar has a
distinctive Mediterranean feel with the decor
primarily maroon and gold pastel colours. There
is also several clay pots and urns and an array of
wine bottles on display. The walls are adorned with
several small pictures of a drink theme and Private
Eye magazine covers.
There is plenty of seating
throughout with modern
style low tables and chairs and high stools next to
the bar. A balcony area overlooks the restaurant
below and in this area there are two widescreen TV's
where live sports are on show. Regular music is on
play at most times. The bar attracts a more upmarket
crowd of young
people, business people and those dining out at
Scalini's. It
is busy on a weekend but can be a little through the week.
Outside there is a very large forecourt
area that has further seating. There is plenty of tables and chairs with some heated
lamps. Disabled access can be difficult to the bar
as access is up a flight of stairs. The bar is fully
air conditioned.
Toilets are small and clean.
Price:
Moderate.
