Large bar that is split over 5 different levels.
There are 2 bars with the larger bar leading through
to Amigos Restaurant. The smaller of the two bars
serves doubles and bottles. The decor is of a modern
design with brickwork and black colours with a
wooden floor. There is small suspended lighting
throughout. There is plenty of seating and ample
standing space in the main area of the bar.
There is a smart conservatory
next to the main bar that leads onto the outside
seating area. This has metallic
tables,
benches and chairs and some high stools and is
protected from the weather by large canopies and
heated lamps. Live sports including live football
is shown on a large plasma screen and there are
several mini TV's dotted about so that you don't
miss any of the action. Regular music is on play
at most times.
The bar attracts a mixed clientele of students,
locals and business people and is busy at most
times, especially on the weekend. It is a popular
venue and is close enough to the main area of
Jesmond to be a good starting off or finishing
point on a trawl around the bars.
Disabled access can
be difficult due to the different levels
and steps throughout the bar. Toilets are small
and clean.
Price:
Moderate.
