Small narrow corner
pub with a cosy atmosphere. There is some seating to
the front in a raised area and some high seats along
the window towards the side of the pub. There is
also a cosy snug area at the rear with further high
seating with shelves against the walls and pillars.
The rear of the pub sweeps around through a narrow
passage to the other side of the bar.
The main theme
of the pub is bees and there are several
pictures
along a narrow passageway at the rear and a display
on the art of beekeeping in a pillar in the snug
area. A large clock is a notable feature near the
main entrance. The pub has an ornate decoration with
wooden panelling on walls.
Can be very busy at most
times due to its position. A steady group of locals
and regulars frequent the pub as well as people
making their way around the Bigg Market bars. A juke
box is located at the centre of the pub with regular
music on play at most times. There are some games
machines dotted about the pub. Big screen sports
shown.
Excellent disabled access with a disabled
toilet at the rear. Ask for the key at the bar.
Toilets are small and are smart and clean.
Price:
Very reasonable
for the area.
