Review:

Large luxury cocktail bar that was previously known as Empress, Zoots, Agora and more recently Kuba. The bar has recently been transformed into one of the newest designer bars in town. It has now been given a complete new look with antique furnishings and crystal chandeliers throughout. It has the feel of a bygone age with the emphasis on providing a cosy /intimate atmosphere in which to enjoy the various live entertainment.

The bar has a very long wooden bar, high ceiling and a wooden floor. It is bright and airy by day with large glass windows to the front. There is plenty of seating throughout with a mixture of tables and chairs and more comfortable armchairs, settees and chesterfields. In the evening there is more subdued lighting with candles on the tables adding to the pleasant atmosphere. The main area of the bar also has plenty of floor space for standing room for when there is live acts on stage.

The decor is a mixture red and brown colours with mahogany panelling and antique fitments. There is a widescreen TV located to the rear of the bar. Regular music on play at most times. Live Music is a regular feature with a stage at the front next to the window. Resident DJ's Chrissy & Finn playing indie, electro, funk, retro & Rock n roll on a Friday and Martin Cooke on a Saturday with a mix of old school, modern indie, new wave, electro & rock n roll.

The bar is likely to attract a total mix of clientele with those interested in the live events as well as people on there way too and from the Quayside. It is sure to attract a more upmarket clientele now that it has a more appealing look. Very busy at weekends and can get busy during the week late on and when live music events are held.

Disabled access is very good with the pub all on the one level. Toilets are small and clean.
