Review:

Large pub that was formerly Bar Oz and has recently been given a smart refurbishment with a fresh lick of paint and new flooring throughout. The new look would appeal to a wide clientele especially with the reasonably priced menu on offer and being close to the University.

There is a long wooden bar that spans the length of the pub. The bar has plenty of seating throughout on mainly wooden tables and chairs, with a large spacious standing area. There are several high tables and chairs in the centre of the bar and by the window. There is further seating at the rear of the pub for diners. The pub gets very busy at all times with mainly a heavy based student clientele being close to the university, business people and shoppers. It is also a popular pre- match venue.

Live Music is a feature on certain nights with live bands. Regular music on play at most times with a DJ on a Friday and Saturday located in a raised area overlooking the bar. Live sports events are shown on a 2 big screens at the front of the bar by the windows. There is also a number of widescreen TV's dotted about the place. Sport featured includes all live football including Newcastle and England matches and six nations rugby. A Change machine is located at the rear of the pub.

Disabled access is very good to main bar. There is a designated disabled toilet on the ground floor in to the left hand side of the bar. The toilets downstairs are small and in reasonable order.

Price:
Reasonable.
