A medium sized
comfortable pub that was previously named the
Printers Pie. The pub has recently been given an
extensive makeover and it now has a more modern and
stylish look. The decor is a mixture of yellow and
olive pastel colours with a part carpeted and wooden
floor. Old Newcastle
pictures adorn the walls.
There is plenty of seating with a mixture of comfortable
sofas, high tables and chairs and some high seating
by the bar. There is also a small alcoved area with
further seating in a raised position to one side of
the bar. The
pub is bright and airy by day with the the windows
opened out in fine weather. It is busy at most times with a mixed
clientele of business crowd, young people and students.
Journalists from the Chronicle office next door also
frequent the pub.
Regular music is on play at
most times with a resident DJ Ross on a Thursday - Sunday located in an area in
one corner, There is also a TV above the DJ booth.
Live sports are shown with live football featured.
The subdued lighting in the evening gives the place
a comfortable and friendly atmosphere in which to relax
and enjoy a pint. A function room is available for hire on certain
nights. There is now an guest DJ on a Wednesday. Karaoke evening on a
Thursday from 8pm.
Disabled access is good with a designated
disabled toilet at the rear of the pub. Toilets
located upstairs are small and clean.
