Review:

Large pub that has two floors and an outside beer garden area. The pub is bright and airy with glass windows at the side and modern décor throughout. The main bar downstairs has a long wooden bar with plenty of tables and chairs dotted about, and some more comfortable booths down one side. There is three pool tables located at the rear with several games machines on display. This leads to a large outside beer garden area with bench seating that is very popular in the summer.

The upstairs bar is very similar to downstairs but it also has a beautiful glass fronted area overlooking the seating area outside. It is open until 1am on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday as there is a small dance and games floor with a DJ booth in one corner. The upstairs is also furnished in a modern style with plenty of wooden tables and chairs and there is also a juke box and a pool table towards the rear of the bar. The lighting fixtures throughout the pub are made up of oil drums cut in half, that give a subdued feel to the place. The pub attracts predominantly a student clientele, being close to the University area.

Regular music is on play at most times with all musical tastes catered for and 4 DJ's featured on different nights. There are also several juke boxes in both the upstairs and downstairs bars. Big screen live sports shown with all live football and six nations rugby featured. There are several small TV's on show. No children are allowed on premises at any time, including the beer garden. The pub is packed out with students on most nights. A quiz night is held every Sunday at 8pm with entry 50p and prizes that include CD's, beer, cinema tickets and travel vouchers. A cask link machine is located near to the main entrance

Disabled access is good to main bar downstairs but difficult to the upstairs bar. The toilets which are downstairs are small and clean.
