Large Music bar that
is the sister pub of Sgt Peppers in the Haymarket
area. There is a spacious and somewhat
spartan feel to the place with an abundance of
standing room throughout and limited seating
consisting of mainly high stools around the walls
and windows. A raised area located to rear has
further standing space and more tables and high stools.
There
is plenty of room for dancing in all areas with the
emphasis on creating a party atmosphere. The bar is
bright and airy during the day with
large windows to the front. In the evening there
is a disco type atmosphere with psychedelic flashing
spotlights and neon lighting to the ceiling. Two
features are the piano key clad bar and the zebra
crossing on the floor a la Beatles Abbey Road. There are also Beatles jigsaw pictures on the walls.
Live
sports including Sky sports football matches are
shown on 12 digital screens dotted about the bar.
There is also a selection of games machines. Regular
music is on play at most times with a DJ located in
small raised area at the rear of the bar. The DJ is a
regular feature every night, playing a mixture of
60's - 90's music. Monday night is advertised as
Student party night, Tuesday is 70's party,
Live music
on certain nights from 8.30pm with free entry to all
music events. Resident groups are a regular feature. There is also
guest appearances by other artists once a month.
Thursday is 80's party night. Friday, Saturday &
Sunday is a mixture of party hits through to 1am.
The pub has a lively atmosphere in the evening and
attracts a mixed clientele with locals, shoppers and
people on a night out. It is busy on most nights and
especially busy at the weekend.
Disabled
access is difficult with steps to the main entrance
and a staircase at the rear to the toilets. Toilets
are small and clean.
