Medium sized
Fitzgerald's pub that is also known as the "Monkey
bar".
The pub has recently been refurbished with the interior decor fully updated throughout.
The layout remains the same with a small bar area to front that has more
seating and a widescreen TV at one end. This leads through
to further lounge areas at the side and rear with
comfortable leather seating around the interior and tables and chairs. There area local pictures of Old
Newcastle adorning the walls.
Further widescreen TV's are located in the rear bar area and there is a entrance that leads out to the side of the pub.
The bar is busy at weekends but quieter
during the week early on. Mainly used by locals apart from
weekends when it becomes more lively with people on
nights out. Can also attract the football crowd on
match days. There is usually a pleasant atmosphere
with regular music on play. A juke box is located on the
wall near to the toilets.
Disabled access good and
the toilets are small and in a good condition.
