Review:

Large pub formerly known as The Archer that has recently been given a refurbishment. The main bar is located to the left of the main entrance and has plenty of standing room. There is a raised area opposite the bar that runs the full length of the pub and has plenty of comfortable seating and tables and chairs. An additional seating area with further tables and chairs is located to the left of the bar. To the right of the entrance there is also a large area that houses a small cocktail bar and a pool table.

The pub is predominantly decorated in bright colours with a 60's theme throughout. There a a number of portraits on the walls. and wooden blinds to the front of the bar. Regular music is on play at most times with a juke box near to the main entrance and a DJ a featured on certain nights. Live Music is also a regular feature on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday. A stage is located at one end of bar. The entertainment usually starts around 9pm with free admission. There are a number of widescreen TV's throughout the bar that show all live football and six nations rugby.

A regular pool competition is held every Sunday from 8pm with prizes to the winner. The pub is very popular at lunchtime with the businesses nearby and is also a good pre-match venue. It is also very popular with students being close to the universities in Newcastle. The bar can also get very lively, with people attending the live music events. Cash machine facility available. A small outside seating area is located at the front of the bar. Functions/parties can be arrange on request. Disabled access to main bar is very good. Toilets are small and clean.
