Popular downstairs pub
below ground level with a small bar.
The pub has a small dining area just off the bar with tables and
chairs and a raised lounge area with plenty of
comfortable seating. There is a small partly
enclosed lounge area near to the bar with additional
comfortable seating and also some high tables and
chairs.
The pub is bright and airy with a pleasant
atmosphere. There is a large plasma screen
in the centre of the bar that features all live
sports, with live football and six nations rugby
covered. There are also two TV's in the corner at
either end of the pub.
Regular music is on play at
most times with a juke box located to the left of
the bar. There are also several games machines on
display. The pub is very popular at a lunchtime with
mainly shoppers. There is a mixed clientele of
business people, locals and shoppers in the evening.
It is also very busy on match days with the football
crowd. The pub has a cosy atmosphere and during the
week it is a good place to relax and enjoy a pint.
No children Monday - Saturday. A board is displayed
in the pub welcoming Norwegian tourists with the
message "Velkommen vare Norse venner". Cash
machine located close to the bar.
Disabled access
difficult as the bar is down a long flight of
stairs. Toilets at the bottom of the stairs are
small and reasonable.
Price:
Moderate.
