One of the first and
oldest pubs in the Ouseburn area of Newcastle dating
back to the early 1800's.
The pub has recently been refurbished with
the two small bar areas knocked through into one large bar and it now has a more modern and spacious feel.
On entering the pub the main bar is directly opposite. There is plenty
of seating throughout with tables and chairs and high stools along the
bar. There are old pictures of the Ouseburn area
adorning the walls as well as shipping memorabilia.
A TV is located in the bar showing Live Sports.
Regular music is on
play at most times. The pub has a local clientele
and attracts students and those visiting The Cluny over the road for live events.
Can be busy at times and there is a
small outside seating area that is used in the
summer.
Disabled access is very good with the bar
all on the one level. The toilets are small and in
reasonable order.
Price:
Reasonable.
