Large traditional pub.
The pub can be accessed from a door at the front and to the side. There are two bars - the front bar is a traditional old style bar. To the rear there is a lounge bar area that can be accessed from a door at the end of the bar.
There is plenty of seating throughout with tables and chairs and leather backed seating. The decor is of a traditional style with stained glass windows and old local pictures on the walls. The pub is fully carpeted throughout and there are 2 fireplaces with a picture of a ship over one. Live sports are shown on widesreen TV's with live football featured.
The pub attracts mainly a local clientele with some business people. When I visited there were only 2 people in the bar and one was very threatening in his manner. Not a good way to attract custom. It is busy in the evenings but can be quieter early doors. Under 16 not allowed after 7pm. Events on offer include a quiz night on a Tuesday & Sunday.
