Review:
Large pub that was
formerly known as the Turks Head. The
pub has a long wooden bar with a part tiled and
wooden floor. The interior decor is a mixture of
cream and purple colours with modern uplighting
fixtures and spotlighting to the ceiling. The
outside is coloured in a bright blue theme in an
attempt make it stand out from its Bigg Market
rivals.
There
are large panelled mirrors on the walls and behind
the bar with a selection of modern pictures.
At the front of the
bar there is a small raised corner area with plenty
of seating and there is also a further seating area
to the rear. The main area of the bar also has some
tables and chairs and there is plenty of standing
room.
The pub is very busy at weekends
with the overspill from the Bigg Market, but can be
quieter during the week. The pub attracts mainly
people on a night out or diners at lunchtime. There
is regular music on play at most times with aresident DJ. Big screen
football is shown on two large drop down screens
situated behind and to the right of the bar, with
all live football and six nations rugby featured.
There are also two widescreen TV's on show. Ladies night every Friday with 70's & 80's music.
Selected bottles £1.50, free shooter with first drink.
The windows at the front are usually open in the summer. No smoking balcony next to main entrance 11am - 5am.

to main bar but difficult to toilets as down a
flight of stairs. Toilets are small and reasonable.
