Small traditional
style Newcastle pub that has two bars separated by a
pillar in the centre of the main bar. The pub has
been nicely decorated to a high standard with a red,
green and cream theme and new carpets throughout.
There is plenty of seating with new tables and
chairs and a small cosy snug area near the window at
the front. The low drop down ball lighting gives a
bright feel to the pub. A large fish tank is a
notable feature situated behind the bar.
There is a
small stage to the left hand side of the bar that
can be used for live music. The walls are adorned
with old pictures of Newcastle and of a sporting
nature, with mainly Newcastle United footballers.
Regular music is on play at most times and
Live music is a
feature on selected nights. A TV is located in the
right hand corner of the bar that attracts the
punters from the local bookmakers that is situated
next door. Live football is shown here. The pub
also has a steady group of locals and market
traders and can attract the football crowd on
match days.
A function room is
available for hire upstairs with disco and buffet
available. A DJ is a regular feature on a Thursday 1pm
- 5pm, Friday & Saturday 7pm - 11pm. A pub quiz
and Live entertainment is held on a Friday and Saturday
from 7pm - 11pm. There is a disco night advertised
on a Wednesday night.
