Review:

Medium sized bar that was formerly Rockies Bar and was one of the busiest bars on the scene. It has been part of the commercial gay scene in newcastle for over twenty years when the pub was one of only four bars on the whole circuit. Fatboyleisure have changed the bar into a more mature and versatile venue, which will cater for those who previously enjoyed and remembered the pub in its hayday. The bar is a good place to enjoy a quiet comfortable drink in the evening with old friends.

Restyled around the comforts of a homely lounge, moccha leather sofas surround low level occasional tables and cube stools with soft warm lighting and colours to surround your senses. You can enjoy the fine range of drinks on offer and listen to our eclectic mix from soulful jazz to the very best in vocal house, Through the week the volume is kept at a comfortable level, and even at weekends the levels won¹t rise too much, ensuring that a quiet drink in the end is exactly that.

The End hopes to offer a more diverse range of entertainment than some other venues with live music, salsa, talent nights and stand ups and there are plans to open up the mic to see how much talent is sat around round you. Open daily from 5.00pm there are great promotions on some of the finer cocktails listed. With live events and entertainment the bar really sets itself aside from others with it¹s weekly line up.

The bar is open until 1.00am for you night owls, who want to sit up and chat into the early hours of the morning with a fantastic bottle of wine and good company. With nights like salsa, live comedy acts, percussionists, girls only nights, free wi-fi internet access all week long and singers this place really offers something a little different on the scene. The bar really is a retreat for those who feel many of the bars are too loud, too busy, and in most cases too young.

The management have decided to cater for a more discerning clientele who appreciate finer surroundings in a more relaxed atmosphere. The venue is only two minutes from the hub of the commercial scene so we have recognized its need to be a destination bar and this is why we feel that for those of you who make the effort to sample the flavours, the décor, and the ambient atmosphere will not be disappointed. The only way to really feel the warmth and atmosphere of this great place is to come along and experience it for yourself. Go on indulge your senses.
