Large new cocktail bar/restaurant that has recently opened
in a Grade 2 listed building, at the bottom end of Grey Street.
It is part of the Niche hotels and is linked to the
hotel which should also be opening shortly.

The bar is set out
over two levels with the main bar and restaurant on
the ground floor and a basement bar downstairs. From
the main entrance there is a bar to the left hand
side and stairs that take you down to the lower
level. The restaurant which can accommodate up to
120 persons is located to the right at the rear of
the bar. The basement bar downstairs has a further
bar with plenty of seating.
The bar has a very
smart and stylish look with the decor a mixture of
cream and brown colours. The brickwork on the walls
and sleek wooden floor also add to the impressive
interior. There is plenty of seating in all areas
with an assortment of high and low level seating as
well as a large dining area.
The windows to the
front give a bright and airy feel during the day and
the low cylindrical lighting and spotlighting to the
ceiling gives the place a more cosy atmosphere in the
evening. Regular music is on play at most times with
a DJ featured on certain nights. There is
also widescreen TV's located throughout the bar. Live music in basement bar on Thursday night.
The bar attracts a
mixed clientele of shoppers, business people and
those making their way to and from the Quayside. It
is extremely busy on most days and at the time I
visited the restaurant was full, therefore expect a
short wait for a table at peak times.
Functions or parties
can be arranged in the basement bar which holds up
to 250 persons. Party menus, buffets, and canapes
can be provided on request Telephone 0870 2203172.
