Review:
This modern
designer bar has virtually everything. The
bar must be one of the longest in town, and as the
name suggests
it is a throwback to the days of "Get
Carter". The Long bar was actually featured in the
film however this bears no resemblance to its
predecessor apart from the pictures dotted about the
walls.
The bar has a luxurious feel and it exudes
class. The modern furnishings are accentuated with
superb rectangular drop down lighting fixtures. The
glass exterior gives a bright feel to the bar by day
and in the evening there is more subdued and cosy
atmosphere with small spotlighting to the ceiling.
The seating mainly runs the length of the window
with a mixture of high chairs and some more
comfortable low tables and chairs. There is also a
raised seating area next to the bar.
The bar is
split into two tiers with a wooden and part slate
tiled floor at one end leading to a lounge area that
is carpeted and which overlooks the Station Hotel. There
are 3 huge drop down screens in the main bar area
that make for an excellent place to watch sporting
events. Live football
matches are shown with most of
the Newcastle matches featured. The bar attracts a
mixed clientele of business people, young crowd,
students and those watching the football. It is a good starting out place on a night out
and is now firmly established as a popular attraction to this area.
The bar is extremely busy on a weekend and also
through the week. Regular music on play
at most times with a DJ a regular feature on a
Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Monday night is RnB night
with live music, Thursday 90's night -
Corona bottles £1.50. A cash
machine is located towards the rear of the pub.
Free internet access with two internet terminals near to the main
bar.
Disabled access is very good with a designated
disabled toilet next to the main entrance. Toilets
are very smart and clean.

Reasonable.
