Bar and kitchen previously known as Bascule that is located by the marina in the St Peters Basin area of Newcastle.

The bar is located opposite to the main entrance and there is plenty of seating throughout with high and low tables and comfortable settees and chairs.

The decor is very stylish with a wooden floor, exposed brick walls/tiles and smart drop down lighting.

The large windows to the front which overlook the marina provide natural light to the bar during the day.

The bar offers a fine range of local and guest ales and there are a selection of tasty snacks and meals available including Sunday Lunch.

To the right of the main entrance there is a small room with comfortable seating and a widescreen TV showing live football.

Outside there is an seating area which is used in fine weather where you can watch the comings and goings of boats from the marina.

Regular music is on play at most times. Live music is a regular feature on a Saturday night. Live comedy acts from 8pm on a Thursday night.

Quiz night on a Monday from 8pm. Steak night on a Thursday from 6pm.

The bar attracts predominantly a local crowd and visitors to the marina. It is a popular venue especially in the summer.

It can be quieter during the day but is more busy on the weekend.

Disabled access is very good with the bar all on the same level. Toilets are small and clean.

Price: Moderate.
