Review:
Large pub
that is a very poular venue in the Gosforth area and has
been
recently achieved a special recognition from Best None 2008 for safe drinking. The pub has 2 bars
on the ground floor with a further bar upstairs. There is an abundance of seating
throughout with tables and chairs and high seating around pillars. The main bar downstairs has large
rectangular lighting over the bar and the decor and
fixtures are of a modern design. There is a large
standing area to the centre of the bar that gets
busy when sporting events are shown.
The upstairs is
decked out in the same style as the lower level and
this can be used for private functions. A family
area is located to the right of the main entrance.
Live sports are shown on large drop down screens
with live football and six nations rugby featured.
The pub attracts a mixed clientele and is also
popular with business people. At the weekend it can
get very busy and the there is a free mini bus to
town laid on by the pub on a Friday and Saturday
evening, for those wishing to take in a club.
To the
front of the pub there is an extensive outside
seating area that has heated lamps.
Private parties can be arranged. Quiz night every Tuesday. Free internet access. Car parking available.
Cash machine to right of main entrance.
Disabled access to
the main bar is very good with a designated disabled
toilet on the ground floor. Toilets are small and spotlessly clean.
Price:
Moderate.
