Live TV sports shown regularly on multiple screens throughout the pub with all live football, cricket, tennis, motor sports, cycling and six nations rugby featured. There are also several TV's throughout the bar.

Medium sized bar which dates back to the 19th century which is part of the Stonegate pub chain.

The pub has 2 floors and is a popular venue being close to Eldon Square Bus station.

By day the bar is bright and airy with large glass windows to the front.

In the evening there is more subdued lighting giving a comfortable and cosy atmosphere.

There are stairs at the front and the rear that lead to the upper floor.

The upstairs bar which is sometimes used as a function room has a relaxed atmosphere with comfortable seating.

There is a semi circular bar with a high ceiling, and plenty of seating throughout with sofas and wooden tables and chairs.

A dance floor is located in one corner and the walls are adorned with large modern pictures and mirrors.

There is a TV in each corner and a large drop down screen. A juke box is located at one end near to the windows.

The bar downstairs is rectangular with plenty of leather backed sofas with high tables and chairs.

The bar has a part carpeted and wooden floor and has old Newcastle football pictures on the walls.

The pub gets very busy during the week and at weekends. Frequented by locals, business people and football crowd.

The bar has a very strong local contingent who drink there regularly. A cash link machine is now located inside the bar.

Disabled access very good to main bar downstairs with a designated disabled toilet to the rear of the pub. Difficult to upstairs bar as up a flight of stairs. Toilets are small and clean. The pub has air conditioning with ceiling fans.

Price: Very Reasonable.
