Review:

Medium sized bar with 2 floors that has recently been given a more modern look. The pub is bright and airy by day with large glass windows to the front. In the evening there is more subdued lighting giving a comfortable and cosy atmosphere. There are stairs at the front and the rear that lead to the upper floor. The upstairs bar which is sometimes used as a function room has a relaxed atmosphere with comfortable seating. There is a semi circular bar with a high ceiling, and plenty of seating throughout with sofas and wooden tables and chairs. A dance floor is located in one corner and the walls are adorned with large modern pictures and mirrors. There is a TV in each corner and a large drop down screen. A juke box is located at one end near to the windows.

The bar downstairs is rectangular with plenty of leather backed sofas with high tables and chairs. The bar has a part carpeted and wooden floor and has old Newcastle football pictures on the walls. The pub gets very busy during the week and at weekends. Frequented by locals, business people and football crowd. Live TV sports shown regularly on a large drop down screen at the rear of the pub with all live football and six nations rugby featured. There are also several TV's and games machines on display throughout the bar. Regular music on play at most times with two juke boxes located either side of the bar. Cash back facility available. Music Quiz every Thursday from 7.30pm -free entry with a bottle of champagne for the winner. The bar has a very strong local contingent who drink there regularly. A cash link machine is now located inside the bar.

Disabled access very good to main bar downstairs with a designated disabled toilet to the rear of the pub. Difficult to upstairs bar as up a flight of stairs. Toilets are small and clean. The pub has air conditioning with ceiling fans. Children friendly.
