Large JD Wetherspoons bar that was formerly known as The Sports Cafe.
A new Wetherspoons hotel with 26 bedrooms has recently opened on the site in the premises next door with a new beer garden to the rear of the pub. The bar has 3 floors with a bar on each level. The ground floor bar is accessed directly from the main entrance and there is a long bar to the left hand side. There are plenty of tables and chairs on all floors for diners. The upper levels can be accessed by a large staircase near the main entrance. Regular music is on play at most times with a dance floor at the rear of the ground floor and on the upper levels. There are several widescreen TV's showing videos. The bar is very popular in the Central Station area and appeals to a mixed clientele of students, locals, business crowd and tourists. It is very busy at all times especially at the weekend and on Thursday Curry night. There is a small outside seating area open until 6pm that is used for smoking. Disabled access is excellent with a designated disabled toilet on the ground floor. Price: Very Reasonable. Excellent value for money. |
