Review:  


Very old Newcastle pub, part of the Wessex Taverns chain that has stone walls and floors. Plenty of seating available throughout with the small front lounge containing high tables and window seating. This cosy area also has a TV in one corner and old caricatures on the walls.

There is a nice view of the Tyne bridge and floating night club. The small rear area has comfortable seating. Large TV screen in middle of bar. Tiny function rooms available for parties, meetings, and conferences -no charge, telephone 0191/ 2611000. A rear passage leads through to Bob Trollops pub next door. Free play juke box near the main entrance. Attracts a mixed crowd of business people, young crowd and students and is very popular at the weekend. Cash back facility is available. Outside seating area open in fine weather.

Disabled access to main bar is good. Toilets at the rear are small and clean.
