If you are looking for a different scene away from the bustle of the city centre bars, there are a number of pubs in the East end of the city. They are all
around 5 to 15 minutes walk from the main areas listed on the site and are well worth checking out.
They include traditional Newcastle pubs full of
character, including real ale and live music venues. The selection we have chosen are some of the best in this area and are an excellent alternative.

Moot and The New Bridge Inn are next to Manors Station and close to the University. There is a selection of pubs in the Ouseburn area also featured. The 'Free Trade Inn' is one not to be missed as this affords one of the most spectacular views of the River Tyne. All in all there is something that will appeal to most tastes.
