City East
If you are looking for a different scene away from the bustle of the city centre bars, there are a number of pubs in the East end of the city.

They are all around 5 to 20 minutes walk from the main areas listed on the site and are well worth checking out. They include traditional Newcastle pubs full of character, including real ale and live music venues.

The selection we have chosen are some of the best in this area and are an excellent alternative.

There is an excellent selection of pubs and micro brew bars in the Ouseburn area including The Tanners Arms, Billy Bootleggers, Donzoko Brewery Taproom, The Ship, The Cluny and The Tyne Bar.

The Free Trade Inn is one not to be missed as it offers an excellent range of ales and affords one of the most spectacular views of the River Tyne.

The Cluny has an excellent selection of ales and regular live music events.

Brinkburn Street Brewery located on Ford Street in the Ouseburn area serves it's own excellent range of cask ales and keg beers and is a must visit.

The Full Circle Brewery taproom in Hoult's Yard, Walker Road is also another excellent option for cask ales and keg beers.

Tyne Bank Brewery has a taproom which is open for live functions only and is located futher along Walker Road.

The Heaton Tap and Tipsy Toad micro brew bars in Heaton and Anarchy Brew tap room in Walkergate are also definitely worth a visit with the varied selection of cask ales and keg beers on offer.

All in all there is something in this area that will appeal to most tastes.
